A diesel particulate filter (DPF) is a device designed to remove diesel particulate matter or soot from the exhaust gas of a diesel engine.

Usually, your vehicle will burn off any remains through a process called regeneration.
If you only travel short distances this usually doesn’t give the vehicle enough time to perform the regeneration.

Other underlying conditions can also contribute to your DPF becoming blocked. If this is the case then again, your vehicle is unable to regenerate.

Off-car DPF cleaning is the most effective way of cleaning your DPF and restoring it practically back to new and you can see for yourself with before and after printouts .It actually removes the soot and ash that is left behind during a regeneration meaning it’s a lot more cost effective than replacing the DPF with a new one.
